COL

COL refers to “customer’s own leather,” which is a leather style selected by the specifier that is not part of the standard offering of a furniture manufacturer. If a COL is chosen, the specifier either has to purchase the leather from the leather provider and ship it to the manufacturer for application, or the manufacturer has to agree to purchase the leather on behalf of the specifier. In either case, the COL process may add coordination and shipping time to the purchasing process, as the specifier has to verify with the manufacturer that the COL is suitable and with the COL provider that the material is available.
