Crypton IMO is a proprietary treatment produced by the company Crypton. The treatment for textiles is designed to meet fire and smoke standards required by IMO/MED while carrying Crypton’s signature stain-resistant, antimicrobial, and integrated impermeable barrier properties. Crypton IMO fabric is certified to be applied on products that will travel in international waters while protecting upholstery from spills, stain, and odor.
Crypton IMO is a two-pass process where the antimicrobial and stain-resistant treatments are applied to the surface of the textile and an impermeable treatment is applied to the back. With the Silver ion technology, Crypton also prohibits the growths of bacteria, virus, odor, mold and fungus. In addition, the integrated impermeable barrier preventing liquids and stains from penetrating into the product.
Crypton IMO can be applied to flat woven, knits, textured, and printed fabrics, as well as polyester, FR polyester, and other fibers. Crypton IMO fabric can be used in high traffic areas, such as public spaces and on cruises, yachts, and ships. Adding Crypton IMO treatment does not change the color or the hand of the fabric.
