Split Grain Leather

Split grain is a type of leather produced from the central portion of the hide, usually the middle or lower layer. The top layer of the hide is not present in split leather, so no natural grain markings appear. Optional finishes include coating the leather with a polymer or embossing it with various artificial grain textures and patterns.
