Wood Plastic Composite (WPC)

Wood plastic composite (WPC), or expanded polymer core, is a type of rigid core used in vinyl flooring that is usually comprised of polyvinyl chloride, limestone, plasticizers, a foaming agent, and wood or wood-like materials such as pulp or wood flour. Rigid cores like WPC are used in modular vinyl flooring to provide dimensional stability and rigidity. Its lightweight, thick construction provides resilience, sound absorption, and comfort underfoot. The WPC core is waterproof, which allows it to resist warping. It can be installed in moisture prone areas subject to extreme temperature changes like bathrooms, kitchens, and basements. WPC rigid core vinyl flooring is installed using a floating interlocking system, is low maintenance, and is best suited for residential or light to medium traffic commercial applications.
